In this lesson you'll learn how to play a solo in the key of G Major with a punk/pop rock style music track. You'll also learn what scales to use to make your own solo.

I wasn't aware 'pop punk' had many tapping runs... I can see it now, Tom DeLonge wailing back to back with Steve Vai...

i don't think i'd call this punk at all.
i don't think any bands i listen to play solos like that, sounds more modern rock/alternative trying to be punk.
i could see it being pop punk, but today's pop punk, not back in the 80s/90s when it was good.

that's exactly what i thought. they should leave the punk rock guitar playing to actual punks, not random kids who think they know what they're doing, but don't even listen to punk.

i love how a dude teaching how to play so called "punk" solo's in wearing a hollister shirt. and last time i checked this doesn't sound like something black flag or aus rotten would have wrote

Private Eye :

Most punk solos (when they are attempted) are just "here, take this scale that you may or may not know and pick randomly and move your fingers and see what happens." No lesson needed for that

very true. i thought it sounded good, i listen to all the screamo stuff too so whatever. Listen to the music for what it is, not based on the genre.
