Although his voice, guitar holding and style play don't match at ALL... I found this a very usefull lesson.

haha what a guy! Nice sweeping though. Hey does anyone know of lessons with sweeps that are not basic Maj/min arpeggios? Maybe diminished or harmonic minor? When I make them myself it never seems to be as cool as when I learn them.

I think its like cooking where other peoples fod is always nicer.

I have a really cool sweeping technique for playing 1 3 5 7 over circle of 5ths... I want to record that soon.

Thanks! The music in the intro was actually a tune I wrote that was rejected from an album.

You should hear some of my beginning students sweep... and can't even strum yet... They paid me to learn to shred... they got their money's worth!

Everyone is bitching, but this lesson is useful to those of us who aren't all that great at doing sweeps. I can do a few 3 strings sweeps but nothing overly complex, but these are just coming naturally. Thanks for this lesson (though you don't look like the guy who would be helping me advance my metal playing, haha).

well not really anything new, but i guess if you dont know what sweeping is than this is a pretty good quick cover of it.

This doesn't really teach how to sweep pick but more like a demonstration of what it is.

I just finally got my Ibanez RG out of the shop and I sound more like a real 80s metalhead, although I still need these geeky shirts to get attention, otherwise I'll be put up on the shelf with my buddies from Loverboy... That was an awesome lesson. Great starting point for learning how to sweep. I wish he would have gone over more of the right hand teqnique a bit... Either way, good lesson.

Iy you don't know what a C chord is and you're already lookin at sweep picking, pick a pair a drumsticks and jump out the nearest window lol

im just getting into sweeping so i found it quite intresting. Good, to the point lesson. But maybe a bit longer, more in detail would be better.

Actually one of the few sweeping lessons around that is... well, actually a lesson instead of a bored teenager going "This is shape A. *sweepsweep*.

I actually found it really useful, I'd never thought of just working it out by chords before.

For what my opinion is worth, I think this video is useful.

Ok, to all that is posting BS about this guy or the video, get a life....you're just bashing people case you suck at playing and get mad when someone how you out, He's just showing the basics for people that haven't played anything that advanced, I've been playing for 18 years, and i find going over the basics helps keep the rust off, by the way, if you don't have anything nice to say DON'T SAY NOTHING AT ALL....and learn some respect....As for the video, it was just fine

nothin to say bout the video. ha solid for beginners but damn... people talking about needing to know an open c chord and all this shit about knowing this and that and i mean shit, it IS NOT NECESSARY to know how to read music to be good at it. i've been playing for more then 6 years and i will sweep all over your book-reading-lesson-taking asses. im not bragging but shedding some light on what it does NOT take to be good. good ears is what it takes to be good imo. obviously i could improve with some lessons but i can shred and sweep and create a vibe by feelin, not by text book shit your told to read and practice. stop hatin and start playing.
