PlayThisRiff.com is proud to bring you a guitar lesson video with Bob Balch of Fu Manchu. In this video, Bob will explain to us what thirds are and why you should incorporate them into your playing. Most of you are familiar with fifths, which are power chords. Now it's time to flip them around.
For more lessons with members of Fu Manchu, Kyuss, Clutch, Monster Magnet, and Scott "Wino" Weinrich please visit www.PlayThisRiff.com.
Damn this guy can teach! I learned more in the 5 minute video than I have in months of lessons. Never heard of Fu Manchu, might have to check them out.
Wow. Anyone else brave enough to notice his sloppy technique?
I mean, look at that wrist, that tension, those unneeded movements! Efficiency fail.(I'm not saying he sounds bad though .)
I had already learnt about thirds while learning AtDI "One Armed Scissor". But, anyways, badass guy, badass song and badass lesson.
Maybe you should write him a letter advising him of everything that you already know so that he doesn't foolishly post lessons....ya know, since everybody care about what you know.
so the 5 and 3 on with 5 being on the low E and 3 being on the A was a minor third? and 3 and 2 with 3 being on the low E and 2 being on the A was a major third?
