Olly and Brick from Essex quartet, States Of Emotion, are showing the UG readers how to play their latest blistering new single, "The Unsung."
The single follows the release of "Fight Them On The Beaches" earlier this year. Full of youthful passion and drive, the track is unmistakably British in sound and verse, moulded and inspired by the sounds of The Stone Roses, Kasabian, The Verve, Oasis and The Rifles; yet fervently unique in its delivery.
Listened to the single, they're like Linkin Park if Linkin Park decided to imitate the XX and many average indie bands from the noughties.
I didn't like the singer from the moment he said "We had a look at the website and we're probably the only indie band on here, [we're soooo indieeeee] probably the only british band on there as well"
I really like those type of guitar riffs, very ambient.
I didnt like the song though, its not because I'm a metal head; theres some very good Indie out there like Minus the Bear and City and Colour but I didnt like the vocal melody or the singers voice.
