Tablature for guitar in video

Hello again and welcome to Steal This Video - the 21th installment of the series, called Capos, Arpeggiation and "The Rhythm Stroke"! Show you support for the series in case you want to see more vids from Pick N' Grin!

As usually, you may leave your comments and suggestions below the article in the comments section and in series' dedicated thread at this location. We do want to know you experience with the videos and get some fresh ideas for future articles.

Video Lesson:

It's a Steal This Video Trifecta! Capos, Arpeggiation and "The Rhythm Stroke". We'll discuss capo utilization and along the way introduce playing chords with the arpeggio technique. It's a way of playing chords without strumming yet still producing a nice rhythm. For students learning barre chords or struggling between chord changes, "The Rhythm Stroke" encourages keeping the beat by giving extra time to position your fingers in between the chords. We'll use the Rhythm Stroke pattern with the 12 barre blues and incorporate it with a capo too. We will refer back to previous videos including "Droning Notes", "Chord Inversions", "12 Barre Blues", "Barre Chords", "Soloing", and "Rundowns". I've included a chord chart of 2 of the example songs, "Big Yellow Taxi" and "Landslide".
Be cool!

Peace, out!
-Pick

Great lesson Pick! Your illustrations sounded so cool that I couldn't help but recording landslide and start doing some improvisations with it.

If you guys want try that - use E minor/aeolian over lanslide (with capo on third fret - play G minor instead).

Otherwise don't bother - just play the tune and enjoy a great chord progression! (Don't ruin something good with a lot of notes...)

I don't want to nit-pick but I think theres just a small error in your listing of the "magic E" chord and the Em(maj7) chord. Fortunately I knew what you meant, but I just wanted to mention it so some others might not be confused!

Dude this guy puts his time into this. For you. For everyone here except himself. Cant you just appreciate that? I sure do. And mr Dahl demonstrates stuff thats not worse, or better, but different. Yeah thats right shred isnt better or worse its different than this.

No-ones forced you guys to watch this, have they? Who forced you to post here? This guys knowledge is a gift he gives to strangers: people hes never met and will probably never know. Thank god for people like that!

Don't worry about the couple of flames. Skilled accomplished musicians dont flame, they encourage. Flamming is typically the result of frustrations over their own ability. Just click on the user's name and you'll see what I mean. Please give this guy a break and let's move on.

Choose a chord, and just strum it, dont worry about changes, just strum it, find something with some nice rhythm, and keep doing that pattern until you start getting some flowing pattern going on, then start changing chords, and such keeping that pattern.

Its kinda hard to address any problem without simply PRACTICING.

Pick's videos are awesome, i'm deffinetly getting a capo today. I've been debating/considering it, and the various uses for it that he showed here comvinced me. It's also awesome to see he mentioned "metal" guitar playing, just shows that he's a great musician who knows about a lot of things, not just metal or not just blues, mad props Pick! (props are a good thing, and mad ones are even better)

also, Ovation should like sponsor him or something, because it's an awesome guitar and in the right hands it's... doubly(?) awesome. Thanks for the lessons Pick!
