The 8th chords seems like an awkward stretch to me... Is the diagram correct? You don't seem to be doing that stretch in the video... Also, the available diagram is different from the one you show us, Pick... POSTED: 04/29/2006 - 12:10 pm / quote |

Awesome, I have been wanting to learn a little about fingerpicking. POSTED: 04/29/2006 - 01:16 pm / quote |
Ampeg J :
Very nice Pick.
Blackbird is a great choice. After you guys master the basic song structure, i found places where i could sneak in more than just the drone "G" note in the finger picking, just something to play with. POSTED: 04/29/2006 - 01:52 pm / quote |

I got 30kbps net, how am i suppose to download the shit ??? POSTED: 04/29/2006 - 01:58 pm / quote |

Good news - Newstead replaced by Pick.
Bad news - Haven't heard this song.

Thanks again! POSTED: 04/29/2006 - 02:36 pm / quote |

I noticed. Pick's pattern he shows in the video is vertical, in the word file it's horizontal. It doesnt matter that much though I think. POSTED: 04/29/2006 - 03:04 pm / quote |
PickNGrin :
Sorry guys, I had some "help" with the chord attachment. I edited it and re-uploaded, Zappp will get it posted soon....yeah, chord #8 was a dooosy! heh heh --I could never finger that strech.

You either wait for how long it takes, or buy new faster internet. Either way it's you that's at fault for not downloading it, there's no magical way to make it work for people with shitty internet. POSTED: 04/29/2006 - 07:15 pm / quote |
toryst :
Thank you for the time and energy it takes to present these lessons. This is priceless stuff!! POSTED: 04/29/2006 - 09:51 pm / quote |

great video--I should go back and re-learn that song since you made me aware of a few embellishments I never really learned. Anyway, thanks for your time with these videos--we all appreciate it.
And After 19 videos, I finally noticed I have the same guitar as you Pick. POSTED: 04/29/2006 - 11:07 pm / quote |

TwistedLogic :
I love to play finger picking style and actually prefer it to using a pic. I need to see the video but am sure it is nice work as usual. Thanks. Question; is it better to have finger nails on the picking fingers or to not have nails. I use the tips of my fingers cut my nails. Which is better. POSTED: 04/30/2006 - 08:14 am / quote |
Kitus23 :
YEAH ALLRIGHT!!!! Pick_n_Grin u're awesome Nice job POSTED: 04/30/2006 - 09:15 am / quote |

Great video Pick. It would be so.... magical if you could say something mean about "wanbulance" in your next turorial video. Petty I know, but I hate Jackass's. POSTED: 04/30/2006 - 09:50 am / quote |

About further discussing or dissing wambulance... its pointless. The guy got his 15 minutes of fame. Let's not bother with such morons.
Maybe Nothing Else Matters by Metallica would have been my example for fingerpicking... if I had my way that is. Great work! POSTED: 04/30/2006 - 11:34 am / quote |

Zaphod_Beeblebr :
Nice vid pick, but why don't you people understand that the term "shred" covers a hell of a lot of stuff, like legato playing, right hand tapping, sweeping and alternate picking, trying to cover "shred" in one video would be futile, try asking for something more specific like legato, tapping or alternate picking...speaking of which, tapping would be a good lesson to do POSTED: 04/30/2006 - 08:53 pm / quote |

This is my first visit to ultimate guitar for like 2 weeks...b4 this the website couldnt work anyone knows wat happened?
POSTED: 04/30/2006 - 11:47 pm / quote |
TheAbacus :
A basic tapping lesson has already been covered. Maybe something about alternate picking would be nice. I'm not even comfortable using a pick as of now... So I guess I'd be more than happy! POSTED: 05/01/2006 - 02:57 am / quote |

gunner83, it was working fine with me.. and with other people to, I noticed, 'cos they just posted on the forum and all.. POSTED: 05/01/2006 - 03:26 am / quote |

Sweet movie. Great help for begginners. I think alot of us using this site however are at least a little more advanced. Pick, I think you should develop one technique, such as soloing and make consecutive movies that potentially build us up past begginner level stuff. You've got great 2 soloing movies but i would really like to see more though. Thanks for the movies and rock on! POSTED: 05/01/2006 - 04:34 pm / quote |
StratEnRegalia :
I agree, an alternate picking video would be nice. I can't believe how much I suck at doing alternate picked triplets at a normal tempo. Maybe just a video on different picking techniques. POSTED: 05/02/2006 - 03:49 pm / quote |
ironman316 :
at the end when you did the clip of it, it seems like you could play it with a pick and it might sound better... but maybe it's just me. POSTED: 05/02/2006 - 10:31 pm / quote |

I overall lesson is what I meant, like going through the basic ideas, the chugga chugga palm muting rhythms and such, composing ideas for shred, solo ideas, you could touch on each subject instead of going into detail.

Pick,
I am a major Beatle fan and I can tell so are you, I think we are about the same age, actually I believe I am a little older, anyway. I have always wanted to learn Blackbird but all the tabs I have tried just seemed over my head, you just made it clear, GREAT STUFF, now I just need to practice. Thanks for all the lessions, I am basically self taught and you have been a big help, I am so addicted to playing. Please don't stop video taping your lessions, I look on U.G. every Saturday just to see if you have made a new one. Thanks again for all your help. POSTED: 05/14/2006 - 09:21 am / quote |
