Glad to see WoT finally getting their own video, showing just how talented that they are. These guys are absolutely insane, and create some VERY creative and advanced riffs from relatively basic chord progressions, and keep it all interesting. They have to be two of the more talented guitarists I've ever seen in a band of their level. 
Hard for them to be "teaching" all that much, though. To them, they think they're going WICKED slow, but they're really not. Course: until now, I've learned their songs by ear, anyway. :P POSTED: 02/17/2009 - 10:48 am / quote |

I can't agree at all with you. If you want chugga chugga, go listen to Haste The Day or some other metal-core garbage. Go check out they're myspace, www.myspace.com/wot
They are very far from a generic chugga band. I know the guys in the band personally (except the new guitar player, John) and have watched this band from it's start untill now. They definatly pushed the envelope for Ohio's metal scene.

How can a new, underground band be considered overrated? I just don't understand the mindset when calling a band overrated that still does DIY tours and gets paid like $150 per show. Now calling someone like Trivium overrated actually could make sense...

my guitar lesson is nowhere to be found because i am not nearly good enough to put one up, but i don't see what that has to do with me calling them a bit overrated. just because im not as talented as them, it doesn't mean that i can't think they are overrated. i am not as good a guitarist as kirk hammet ieither and i still find the entire metallica overrated, so i really don't see what i am doing wrong here?

Yeah, very far from a generic chugga band when their riffs are all generic muted open E chugga riffs. I fail to see how a generic band can push the envelope.
