Welcome to the first installment of the video series, In The Element, for Ultimate-Guitar.com. It is here you will get a glimpse of your favorite guitarists in a light never seen before through the eyes of your host, UG Multi-Media-Guitar-Mad-Man Chris Buono, while at the same time, getting occasional glimpses of Mr. Mad-Man himself in the element he was beyond doubt pre-destined to be in.

The videos will be comprised of candid footage taken from multiple sessions involving our victims, err, subjects including (but not limited to) interviews, gigs, impromptu jams, wrestling matches and bloopers all mashed up into one gloriously entertaining piece of entertainment. Be warned: there will be cursing by your host and his guests. As a matter of fact, the initial F-bomb drops at about 00:43 seconds into this first video so turn your volume down if the more “proper” inhabitants of your household are struttin’ by-unless, of course, you’re in a devious mood.

Kicking things off is a three-part series of videos featuring Matt Bachand and Jon Donais-the guitar duo that propels the mighty Shadows Fall. Buono and fellow UG stalwart Doug Osborn (aka Casualty01) caught up with the guys right before a gig at the Pearl St. in Northampton, MA for a hang in the tour bus! But first, “Part 1: The Drive” sets you in the soon-to-be-loved Honda Element with your host and temporary cameraman as they make their way into NoHo for the hang.

Be sure to check out the lesson/interview Chris did with Bachand and Donais in the December 2007 issue of Guitar Player magazine, which is available now! Hey, while you're at it, go get a copy of SF’s latest opus, Threads Of Life, on Atlantic records!

threads of life was a huge improvement from the war within, the guitarwork in all their albums has been good, just the whole band is really starting to come together . i hope they never break up like what slipknot did when their albums started improving.
