Directed by David Brodsky of MyGoodEye (The Devin Townsend Project, Amon Amarth, Kylesa, Helmet, etc) Midnight Serenade marks the first music video off of the Arch / Matheos release Sympathetic Resonance, which was just released on September 13th via Metal Blade Records. Arch / Matheos’ Sympathetic Resonance debuted at #13 on the Billboard New Artist Chart and at #36 on the Billboard Hard Music Chart while also hitting the international charts at #27 in Germany, #67 in Austria, and #78 in Switzerland.
Arch / Matheos is the new progressive rock band featuring the talents of Jim Matheos (current member of the progressive rock powerhouse Fates Warning and OSI) and John Arch (former vocalist of Fates Warning) along with renowned drummer Bobby Jarzombek (Halford, Fates Warning, Sebastian Bach, Riot), bassist Joey Vera (Armored Saint, Anthrax, Fates Warning, Seven Witches), and additional lead guitarist Frank Aresti (Fates Warning).
Sympathetic Resonance tracklisting:

Cover art for Sympathetic Resonance was fashioned using an image created by light painting photographer Dennis Calvert, who has described light painting as "The ability to see in 4 dimensions, time traveling, and creating fantasy using only what we base all reality on, light."
This song is beyond epic, instrumentaly it's so well written and everything sounds so clean and precise as does the whole Arch/Matheos album, Arch's vocal stylings and lyrics are simply out of this earth he has such a unique and powerful voice, if you havent got this album and your a fan of prog metal or any other metal genre you need to add this to your collection. In my opinion it's by far the best album ive ever brought it's such a fresh but oringinal sounding album!
Awesome, been waiting to see this. Nice, simple video...although it's sort of ridiculous that this is the shortest song yet still they chopped off most of the intro and cut out the entire lead guitar bit at the end. Come on...
But yeah, metal album of the year. No doubt. I hope this gets more people exposed to it now.
This is basically Fates Warning minus Ray Alder....this is Original Fates Warning lineup with Arch, Matheos, Aresti, Vera, all thats needed is Mark Zonder.

^ Negative. Zonder is Alder Fates. A very different animal, but no less amazing. Anyway, A/M is definitely the metal/prog album of 2011 - hands down. An amazing piece of work by all the guys involved. Can't wait for new official FW in 2012 either.
This album is truly a masterpiece of modern prog metal; the best album in decades. Song-driven with layers and layers of guitars and almost no keyboards, which is what metal is all about. (Not that I don't enjoy keys, they just always seem to turn into tons of keyboard solos, sort of a competition with the guitar solos, which is irritating.) Arch is the greatest vocal artist in metal and I'm incredibly happy that he is making music again.
Slightly disappointed that the video doesn't include the nice melodic lead at the end but other than that it is suitably atmospheric.
ORIGINAL Fates Warning=Arch, Matheos, Dibiase, Arduini, Zimmerman
Classic Alder Fates=Alder, Matheos, Dibiase/Vera, (Aresti), Zonder
Current Fates=Alder, Matheos, Vera, Jarzombek

I have been a fan of Fates since their 1st album, "Night on Brocken." This is, by far, the best album ANY line-up combination has EVER put out! The layers of mood and emotions in the music is truly amazing. And of course, being able to listen to Arch's voice again is pure pleasure. Thank you guys so much, for the prog metal album of the last 25 years!
