Other than the (far too short) solo, I definitely agree. POSTED: 03/23/2010 - 06:02 pm / quote |

Solid soloing, but it does need to be longer. POSTED: 03/23/2010 - 10:03 pm / quote |

Tranquillity/Tranquility can actually be spelled both way and still be correct. I think that one of them is American English and the other one is British, but whatever.
I find it incredible that so few people of this site have heard of this band. The band grew up with In Flames and At the Gates and together with those bands started the melodic death metal movement, but they never get any respect at all internationally. To me, they are all that In Flames could have been. My favorite band in the entire world.
Although this song is quite an odd choice for a first video from the album as it is not representative at all for their sound. Solid song nontheless, I love the pre-chorus and chorus. Fun to play on guitar. POSTED: 03/25/2010 - 03:02 am / quote |

My god people, this is melodeath. Not all metal genres are about showing off on the guitar. This isn't necrophagist. Longer, faster, more "interesting" solos would be counterproductive to the musical idea they are adhering to.
Nothing wrong with necrophagist or technical bands or long solos or anything, I'm just saying, not every band in the world should be about that. Complaining about Dark Tranquility having short solos is like complaining about Amon Amarth not having solos. It's just not their sound. POSTED: 03/28/2010 - 03:00 pm / quote |

I dont mind the guitar work...and the drums are ok... bass is very low in the mix cant really hear much. but why do all these eastern european bands have to have the same sort of vocals? is there anything out there that sounds like this instrumentally' but not vocally. I mean Opeth have nailed that mix of blending the growly vocals with melodic, but I want something softer on the vocals entirely - anyone know of anything like that? Katatonia maybe? POSTED: 03/29/2010 - 09:10 pm / quote |

Have to add there that it is a different genre, there isn't much melodic death metal (which includes vocals and instrumentals) that has softer vocals as a whole...
They are still pretty heavy and melodic(ish), it's doom metal so... see if it is what you're looking for I'd say. POSTED: 03/29/2010 - 09:13 pm / quote |
