Music video from extreme metal band Massakren. From their 2011 demo recorded at Bota Studio and mastered by James Murphy.
Though Spencer and I are from the Chicagoland area, we didn’t solidify Massakren’s lineup until I briefly attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. There I met Charlie and Justinian, wrote a bunch of songs, and we started promoting and gigging anywhere we could. As such, we started getting a big following in Bloomington, as well as the rest of Indiana. While we were doing OK in the Midwest, we wanted to spread our music as far as possible. A music video seemed like the next logical step in getting our stuff heard and seen.
We knew what we wanted to do for the video, but we needed a crew. Fortunately for us the guys at Perfect Cut Productions had seen us play many times before and were fans of the band, and were eager to work with us. Perfect Cut, as well as various others who helped on the set, are all fans and friends of the band, so we had a really casual and supportive environment to get our vision on film.
We found this really industrial looking area to shoot, and decided to focus just on the band and avoid a storyline, as the song and lyrics were pretty straightforward. We wanted it to showcase our live appeal, technical skill, and represent us as a band.

i dont understand any of the lyrics so i cant say anything for the song itself but the structure is cool and they all have some freakin good technical skills
the guitar like stated earlier appears to be a xiphos without the d-activators, and some binding around the body.
i get that some people wear make-up as a part of the overall act, but to this video/group it just seemed to be more distracting. from a technical stand point i thought they were pretty good, but...?
Shit posers band, I dont see any of the power and emotion that the 90s metal had. Pantera, Sepultura, Biohazard OWNS this crappers. I CANT see metal in a guitarist from the 2000s who learn the "metal guitar style" in youtube. Never took the "metal life style" and stuff. I think the 2000s were in many senses, the death of real rock music, in every style. I dont know any (not even 1) band from the 2000s who could have any kind of Charisma of Rock Feeling.

Well, I think for death metal they're nice. But this band never will be a huge name...
And it's not a problem if the singer is the lead guitarist too; Alexi Laiho is doing the same in Children of Bodom...
Lose the makeup, maybe get a better screamer (or give the vocalist more practice), keep the drummer and bring the bass out a little more and in my opinion you might have a pretty good band. The solo was good, could've had a better effect and more interesting beginning but still good. The vocals would be better (and this is just my opinion) if it were a more Phil Labonte "All That Remains" style (half screamed half sang) but thats just me.
Don't see them being too huge anytime soon though. Respect for the instrumentals though
why is the singer also the lead guitarist. Thats a fail
Ever heard of Van Halen, Children of Bodom or Megadeth? Sure Van Halen got a singer in but EVH used to do their vocals...why is this a problem as long as the musician can perform both?

I disagree, I think the vocals are what distinguishes them from your run of the mill deathcore band. That and the lack of breakdowns.
I actually like it, and it had a nice solo. It reminds me a little bit of Behemoth. Blackened Death Metal with a dash of thrash. Hey that rhymed. If it's not not your fort'e then don't go trashing them, just dont watch the video.

Its a problem because the band becomes about one person and you just watch them sing and do solos and if they retire the whole band must retire.
And Dave isnt the lead guitarist.. the only time he was lead was when he was in Metallica.

You know i actually kind of see that, It's probably just personal tastes. But i actually agree on that part, they are deffinately different than stock deathcore bands
Disney's take on Black Metal. These guys look like they've been formed by a record label who's fashion sense comes from a mix of My Chemical Romance, a hair metal band and Dimmu Borgir Rofl - Morons just fuk off lol
Lack of vibrato on holdout-tones in solo! AARGH, that scars my ears! a good vibrato is a must for a lead guitarist! boring song, halfcool solo (if it weren't for "What's vibrato?!" parts! outfits seems really offtopic for an industrial place and the video!
