This year at NAMM 2011, Roland/Boss showcased a product that is the culmination of years of research. The Roland GR-55 is a guitar synthesizes that can be used on stage or in the studio and provides over 900 of Roland’s latest fully editable PCM sounds.

It’s marketed as one of the fastest processors ever for guitar synthesis and works with two types of multi-effects engines, global reverb, chorus, and delay effects.

I was able to hear quite a few was impressive, 900+ effects is pretty damn impressive. I have 12 effects/stomp/ so 144 different combination's and I haven't intimately gotten to know more then 3 or 4, and that's having the amp for almost a year. Granted they are pre-sets so if your looking for a tone from a certain band you could probably find something pretty damn close.

The video doesn't do this thing justice I just went through a sample of all its songs and was staggered, the quality and ability to use multiple effects was just insane.
