That would be utterly amazing. I would love to be a guitar tech. Especially for Slayer lol

Robin_OldSchool :

Too bad Warren ****ed up the sound levels when Slayer played Graspop this year. On the vid he seems pretty professional but when I saw them doing the soundcheck man that sucked and when Slayer began playing with World Painted Blood the sound levels were really bad

How does a guitar tech screw up sound levels? Isn't that the sound guy?

!-twisty-! :

He's the guitar tech, not the sound engineer

Never blame on the volume level/tone on the guitar guy... it's all on the sound tech

seemeel :

Guitar tech sets up the guitars, sound tech does the levels. Two totally different jobs.

Good old JH at the end, plenty of lovely young ladies around him.

SlackusMaximus :

You become a tech by knowing the band or knowing someone that knows the band and you get recruited into the position.

hEY,Robin?Do you still think a guitar tech owns the responsability for what goes out the PA system?LOLOL
He can check if the monitoring sound is ok for the band but...really...shit...that's a problem for the sound tech on the mixing desk...I mean...do you guys play gigs?

no he's not !!! the freaking engineer is responsible for the levels!!! when the tech is on stage at soundcheck he's just providing a signal for the engineer to manipulate, and did you see what he did when he went to the PA? how do you know what he adjusted?? if anything?? Seriously man, you cant blame a guitar tech for bad sound, out of tune guitars? definitely, but poor levels or bad mixing? no.

when you see the tech walking on stage giving signals to the engineer that the sound is poor and he gets mad and starts adjusting things himself and walking on stage playing then adjusting a bit more and play again and then walks away with a smile then yeah .. and yes ofcourse normally the engineer is responsible for it but when the enigneer gets half chased out behind the pa system well what do you want
