"The story behind "You and Me" is interesting. I first heard Boomer sing in a bar in Guam one night when we were on tour there and I was jet lagged and we couldn't sleep. He was the backup singer in a band called rebel lion. Bobby Lee had met him the previous year at a friends BBQ.
I originally wrote the song for him to do what he wanted with; he promised to come to the hotel and meet me if I promised to write a song. It was a solo piece, but as I realized it might not be released under the situations that were there in Guam, or whatever the circumstances were. I wasn't sure.
We made the song a duet and have sang it together numerous times, live, at my house, wherever. The video was shot during the time period that Boomer was in Santa Barbara playing West Beach Festival with us.
He's a good friend and a great family man, and obviously a great singer. Be on the lookout for more collaboration from us."
