I really liked this song, it's the first of Mastodon's I've heard that I liked, I didn't like the divinations song all that much, but I might check out the new cd or some more songs or something

For some reason I could really tell by the music that they're probably from some southern US state, I wonder why

i've never heard their stuff before, and i'm not into the mindless thrash metal or metalcore or whatever the f*** they call it nowadays. but i thought this was a pretty sick song, and the video was absolutely gorgeous!

Actually, seeing how he likes the softer stuff of theirs, don't. Blood Mountain fits more.

love this song, it feels like they were just jamming and this is what came out.
and on the southren thing their guitarist started on the banjo, influencing his guitar playing, thus the intro on divinations, and the feel of being southren.
love this album ,and a little of blood mountain, i need to get their entire catalog

They've evolved so much from Remission, it's really interesting. I still like the raw power of that album best, but their more recent experimentations with melody and singing turned out to be a really cool thing. This song is sick.

agreed. they're almost a completely different band since releasing Remission. This is how a good band should evolve. Mastodon is one of those rare bands you see where pretty much everyone appreciates their music, and if not, then people can admit its just not their type of music but its most definitely not "bad".

+1, I like listening to all music, and I try to go to all genres, but SOME (Not all, there are a few of the metal songs that I think are good) are just ridiculous and barely even considered music.

I'm really starting to like the Crack The Skye stuff, especially because they're starting to put in some nice bluesy solos in there. Fuckin' love it.

I really don't know what to say, I really think that this video is really cool, but the song is kinda lame, but the solo is awesome, if you want to see some of their harder trashy stuff, check Leviathan, that is the Mastodon I like, it will BLOW your brains!
