Why is that whenever there seems to be an attractive female appear before the UG community 90% of the comments are "you're hot i want you" or “who did you screw to get here" why is it so hard to say "not my cup of tea" or "I like it" POSTED: 02/14/2012 - 02:52 pm / quote |

Tonight Alive seem to have exploded within the last two months. Never heard of them before, then two months ago they show up in Kerrang and apparently have some gigantic fanbase and are set to sell millions of albums.
Nowt against them, just a bit blindsided, I've never seen any band go from unknown to huge like these guys have so quickly.
As for the Paramore comparisons, hardly. Unless you think that every pop-rock band with a female singer is instantly the same, there's not much similar going on here. We already went through this ten years ago when Evanescence turned up and suddenly every metal band with a female singer was compared to them. Hell, when Paramore first turned up they were compared to Evanescence a lot.
As far as I've been able to tell, listening to a few Tonight Alive songs, their similarities with Paramore start and end with the gender of their singer. Let's face it; if they had a guy singing you wouldn't think of comparing them to Paramore, you'd probably be mentioning Blink-182 or Green Day instead.
Which, again, is not to say it's good or bad. I'm just observing the incredibly dumb narrow-mindedness of people. POSTED: 02/15/2012 - 03:23 am / quote |

Its not real! They just paid to be in magazines and I dont think they'll sell well at all. They are what.. a 4th generation PARAMORE ripoff.. with SHIT songs and no chemistry. Yeah, good luck.

Their singer copied Hayleys moves %100. The headbanging thing, the ****ing dancing, the clothe, the "cute but not trying" style. The MUSIC has the same vibe. They are trying to be Paramore. If you cant see/hear it YOU'RE dumb.
This is just dumb down Disney pop/punk.

why did only the guys jump into the pool?
if you're going to sell a band solely on the attractiveness of its female singer, at least have her shed some clothes.. POSTED: 02/15/2012 - 10:12 pm / quote |

You probably don't listen to coheed and cambria very much if you draw a comparison like this. POSTED: 02/16/2012 - 06:11 pm / quote |
