saw them live and they were horrible, just noise mostly the drums sounded the same in every song and you couldn't tell one guitar from the other. But it was pretty funny when the bass player was head banging and smashed his bass into one of the guitarist headstock and ripped out like three tuning pegs, the guitar looked like he was going to kill him on the spot haha. Awful song, very stylised video though. However I did get sick of seeing the lead vocals ugly mug after a while. They wouldn't be half bad if they ditched the singer since they have some nice chunky riffs here and there.
But not many people want to listen to that noise. Not many sane people anyway.

HAAAAA no big death metal is like Necrophagist or Beneath The Massacre... well actually thats tech death, but go look at like cannibal corpse, nile, suffocation... thats death metal... and real of what peeps call "deathcore" would be like as blood runs black .... i name the band simply "crap" as their genre

actually, i'm in a band that a lot of people know. we sold out almost every shows we did last year in nasvhille and the surrounding area. i'd say that's pretty good for non-country in nasvhille

Weird, I was listening to Necrophagist when I read this...
Cannibal Corpse is just a terrible excuse for death metal, and the last time I listened to them they kept the same 2 beats the entire song. Nile is great except for the fact that their vocals have absolutely no power at all, they are in fact "grunts". Other than that, they're ****ing awesome. Suffocation isn't bad. Mike Smith is probably the best thing about them though. If you want to listen to good death metal, I'd suggest Cattle Decapitation.

they're deathcore not death metal. they play metalcore drums guitar and bass behind a death metal vocalist. their deathcore sorry to say. but i do recal someone calling them (not saying this insultingly so dont take it offensivly) either the word was sludge or dirt core but im not 100% on it so dont really believe the dirt/sludge core monicker, but they are no matter what a deathcore band. and they are from what i understand one of the forerunners in the genre

Not Death Metal... Death metal bands have solos... Very good solos... Less break downs and more lyrics about death and destruction and zombies... Deathcore (death metal + Metalcore) is what this is because it has lots of breakdowns (or just the same one over and over), lots of screaming, and blast beats from hell...

No it is not classic rock fans who hate breakdowns... It's real death metal fans (or elitest) who don't like it because death core gives Death metal a bad name (no offense it does, it replaces solos with breakdowns which is lame imo). And I wouldn't even know what riff your talkin' about because I couldn't tell the differece from a riff or breakdown

They use more than just the bottom 3 strings.
They go past the 7th fret.
The song has 2 breakdowns (Second one being the most epic breakdown I have ever heard in deathcore) That's nothing compared to every song in "The Somatic Defilement" which had a breakdown every other riff.
The song doesn't have a solo, so what? A lot of songs don't have solos in them.
They're not technical, so what? Who cares, not everyone likes technicality. I've tried playing some of their music and it's much harder than you guys may think.
The vocalist is probably one of the best vocalists I have heard in a deathcore band in a long time.
Actually listen to the song before you flame, this is one of the better deathcore bands out there besides The Faceless(old) and All Shall Perish.

Sludge metal is stuff like Eyehategod, Acid bath, The Melvins. This is nothing like sludge metal. I'm not one of these genre nazis that flames for any slight genre confusion, but I'm a big fan of sludge metal.
