Hello Everyone,

You may or may not know who I am, so let me introduce myself. My name is Kole and I’m a professional musician and instructor based out of the Los Angeles, CA area. I’m a new face to Ultimate-Guitar.tv, but I’m not new to the Ultimate-Guitar community. Some of you may recognize my name because I have many articles published in the columns section of Ultimate-Guitar.com. Anyway, I’m here today to promote a video series I’m doing exclusively for Ultimate-Guitar.

However unlike many instructional videos, this series will be on the elusive and often misunderstood art of “Songwriting.” In this specific video I go over some of the things you can expect to see in this series and who it applies to.

That’s all I have for now, but I hope to see you all again very soon for the first Songwriting video. You’ll have to come back to Ultimate-Guitar.tv to find out what it will be on!

Take care and keep composing fellow artists.

Maybe he does suck hard, I dunno, I don't know the man in real life; but this guy knows what he's talking about, more so than you probably do. Go find his lessons.

A songwriter with a speech impediment named kole, with a 'k'. Sounds like a made for TV movie on lifetime.

Heh, but in all seriousness, this guys sounds like the real deal and I'm excited for what he has to offer. I'd rather be 10 times better at songwriting than even know how to play guitar.

MyFreezingMoon,

I find this is a common "issue" with many Songwriters (Including myself sometimes) and I will definately create a video on how to connect sections of music to each other.

Take care.

song writing is not that hard that you need a vidio lesson

songs come from the heart and personal exp as well as your environment and song structure is not that dificult too just look at how other artist do it yourself and the lyrics come before the music its easyer that way does anyone agree that these vids are almost pointless

There needs to be a set of vid lessons designed to take someone from low intermediate level up closer to advanced. Kris' lessons blew me away, and I couldn't hardly keep up, but picks were a little too basic.

This is what we need!
Songwriting may come from the soul ^^ but creating an actual composition or a great structured song is very difficult.
One can have style and nice licks but it is very difficult to create a song with it.
I disagree, melody BEFORE lyrics!

Metalguy001,

You can all expect to see the first Songwriting Video in November. I can't give you a specific date as of now (a few different reasons why), but I will tell you that it's on a topic that many of you have mentioned in the comments section here.

Take care.

Songwriting is not that hard for some people...but other people like me need a way to organize all of their thoughts...so in your mind pointless and in mine helpful...
