02.You can manipulate the melody slightly, but only if it conforms more easily to the style you are harmonizing it in. (Don't change the rhythm too much or add many more pitches to the existing melody)
03.Your submission will be accepted in 3 different formats: A Recording (Mp3 or Midi), Lead Sheet w/Melody & Chord Symbols, or full Notation.
04.Recordings shouldn't last much over a minute and do not submit more than the 8 measures given (if you are submitting a Lead Sheet/Notation).
05.Have fun, experiment with some new things you've learned on your own (and from this video series) and then submit! You have absolutely nothing to loose, but some cool prizes to gain!
I just became aware of how hard the example is to read (was displaying correctly earlier on my computer), so I've sent a more legible updated example in to the Site updaters.
The new example should be up shortly. Sorry about that and thanks for your patience!
Hi Kole! It's great that you put another one of these contests, thanks a lot!
I have one doubt about the melody (about the transcription), in the seventh measure, there is an F that goes till the last measure, isn't there? I'm asking because I think I see that in the standard notation but not in the tab... Thanks!

You're welcome and thank you for catching that. I accidently left out the tab for the "F" starting at the 7th measure, but I meant for it to be there.
Why are people being dicks about the prizes, its a good exercise that you can do on your own without having to win something...the fact that you can win something makes it more interesting or motivating.

Yeah, that's what I was wondering too, can we repeat the sequence? This ties into another questio; can we choose any tempo or is it 120bpm?
You can repeat the sequence 1 more time through, but I will only judge the harmonies used in the first 8 bars (or you can specify for me to judge the 2nd 8 bars).
Also, you can choose whatever tempo you like, as long as it is appropriate for the style you are writing in.
